Additional Notes
The hat is worked in the round from the top down. The dino and lava sections are worked using stranded knitting techniques. The garter-stitch edge and ear flaps are worked sideways and are knit on to the live stitches at the bottom of the hat. Finally, the pom-pom is attached to the top. There are five different dinosaurs to choose from, each can be mixed and matched as you please.
I’ve used acrylic yarn as I wanted a cheap and cheerful hat that could easily go through the wash, but any DK weight yarn should work well. Yarns with a slight halo and less crisp stitch definition will improve the colourwork sections.
